In passive sentences the things receiving the action is the subject

   Of the sentences and the things doing the action is optionally included near the end of the sentences. You can use the passive form if you think that the thing receiving the action is important or should

Be emphasized you can also use the passive form. If you do not know who i

s doing the action or if you do not want to mention who is doing The action.

Form: [thing receiving action]+ [Be] + [v₍₃₎]+[by]+ [thing doing action]

Example:

1.    The students are taught by the professor.

2.    Dishes are washed by john.

I .Present passive

Form: S+ V _{(TOBE )} + V₍₃₎+OBJ.

Example: I am sent to study at Kep.

His homework is done by his friends

She is loved under the table by me.

II. The present perfect passive

Form: S + HAVE/HAS + BEEN + V₍₃₎ + OBJ.

My wedding has been arranged by my parents.

Her home has been built by the worker.

III. present continuous passive

Example: our school is being supported by father SOMNANG.

Our room is being cleaned by the students.

IV. Past passive

Form: S+WAS/WERE + V₍₃₎ OBJ.

Example: A letter was written by me.

 A book was written by the writer in Cambodia.

 V. Future passive

Form: S+WILL+ BE+ V₍₃₎+ OBJ.

Example: A letter will be written by TENG.

She will be blamed by her mother.

*Transitive verb is an action that someone or something does to something or someone. The verb is used with an object.

*passive from can be used

Example: The Tsunamic wave killed hundreds of people.

An intransitive verb is an action that happen by itself. The verb is not used with an object (does not take an object) therefore, no passive from can be used.

Example: hundreds of people were killed by the Tsnamic wave.

Some intransitive verbs

There verbs do not occur with objects, so they cannot be used in the passive voice.
